Responsible Gambling

Slapshot Diaries is committed to responsible gambling. Casino and sports betting are entertainment, not a way to earn income. If you choose to play, set time and money limits before you start and stick to them.

Where to get help — Canada

The 19+ requirement

The legal gambling age in Ontario for casino and sports betting is 19 years. All operators registered with iGaming Ontario verify age and identity through KYC before allowing real-money play. Other provinces set their own minimum ages — typically 18 or 19. Slapshot Diaries does not target minors, does not use imagery designed to appeal to minors, and does not promote gambling as a coming-of-age or status activity.

Warning signs of problem gambling

Recognising the signs early matters. Common indicators include gambling with money meant for bills, borrowing money to gamble, hiding play from family, feeling restless when not gambling, chasing losses, and neglecting work, school, or relationships because of gambling. The Canadian Problem Gambling Index (CPGI) is a validated self-assessment used by provincial health systems.

Editorial commitment

Slapshot Diaries does not present gambling as a way to make money, escape problems, achieve social status, or guarantee wins. Our affiliate partners are limited to operators registered with iGaming Ontario for Ontario-facing content; non-Ontario brands are kept on clearly marked pages with geo-restrictions for Ontario IPs.
